Group Cross-Cultural Study for 2022-2023
Group Cross-Cultural Study trips are for cross-cultural credit only (GNST-250) and do not include any other courses. These trips may be led by Lee University faculty or staff, or they may be with an approved outside organization. Trips with Lee University athletic teams or music ensembles fall under this category. These trips are not eligible for financial aid. The $250 tuition charge for the GNST-250 course will be added to your regular Lee bill and is separate from the advertised cost of the trip.
You MUST have successfully completed GNST-200, the Global Perspectives Seminar, prior to going on one of these trips if you want to receive credit for GNST-250. If you have not yet taken GNST-200 yet and want to participate in one of these trips, you should apply for the trip and our office will enroll you in GNST-200 once you are accepted.
Alaska Spring Break 2023 - Far Flung Tin Can
During this cold and eye opening trip, we, you and the Far-Flung team, travel throughout the Northern Slope district of Alaska. We work alongside the Borough Mayoral office and a local church to experience Arctic life in remote Alaskan villages. We will travel by prop plane, ice road and even dog sled throughout the week. These villages get few outside visitors and we will be able to go into homes, ask questions about daily life below zero degrees and how everything single thing you see there is flown in. We will have 3 church services open to the communities. Travel with the mayors office to get insight on how the towns run and grow. We will attend a local basketball game to see one of the few things the community has to attend. We will meet with elders in the community to learn how they pass on Inupiaq culture for 2,000 years. We meet whalers who risk their lives to hunt whale in the Fall and Spring to provide food for the community. We will also interview a semi-retired expedition dog sledder who has dog-sled to the North Pole and was apart of the whale rescue based on the movie "Big Miracle".

Domestic Jewish Immersion Fall Semester Group Trip - Fall 2022
In the slums of Quito, lies a lighthouse of hope. Although the area is filled with drugs and sadness, there is a source of love and light spreading through the neighborhood. Pan De Vida ministry is feeding children, evangelizing to the lost and growing the local church in Atucucho. The ministry has now branched out to Agualongo. This small farm town is located two hours away from Pan De Vida’s building. A few years ago, the Lord guided Laly, missionary to Pan De Vida, to launch a sister ministry in this poor and beautiful place. They currently teach and feed the children there once a month and plan to build a second site for feeding and launching a church on the hillsides.
